Have you ever felt like you share too much about your personal life with others? Are you guilty of oversharing, only to have your plans or goals criticized or questioned by others? If so, then you may be interested to learn that sometimes less is more when it comes to sharing personal information. I've found that by sharing less about my personal life, I've gained a greater understanding of who I am as a person. It can be difficult to not discuss what's going on in your life, but sometimes keeping things to yourself can be beneficial. By sharing less, you avoid others trying to alter or put down your plans and you are able to focus more on your future. Let's be real, other people's opinions can and do affect us, whether we like it or not. Sometimes, even slight opinions can cause us to question our choices and actions. So instead of constantly giving others updates on your life, consider keeping things to yourself. You might be surprised at how freeing it can feel to focus solely on yourself and your own personal goals. Of course, there may be times when sharing certain aspects of your life with others is necessary, but that should be done on your own terms. By being more selective about what you share, you can protect your own wellbeing and ultimately have a greater sense of self-awareness. So next time you find yourself tempted to overshare, remember that sometimes it's best to keep things to yourself. You never know what positive changes it might bring to your life.
